These Terms govern your use of UseAIBetter (the “Service”), a macOS application and the website at use-ai-better.com, provided by Uniqsale LLC (“we”, “us”). By downloading, installing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

UseAIBetter is a macOS menu bar utility that installs a UserPromptSubmit hook into the Anthropic Claude Code command-line tool and produces critiques of the user’s prompts. Critiques are generated by invoking the user’s own locally installed claude CLI; we do not run or host any large language model on the user’s behalf.

2. License

Subject to your compliance with these Terms (and, where applicable, payment of the subscription fee), we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Service for personal or internal business purposes. You may install the Service on any number of devices that you personally own or control, provided each instance is signed in with the same account.

You may not: (a) reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service except as permitted by applicable law; (b) resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Service or any access credentials; (c) remove or alter proprietary notices; (d) use the Service to develop a competing product.

3. Account & authentication

Signing up creates an account via our authentication provider, Clerk (clerk.com). You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Subscription, billing, and cancellation

Paid plans are billed yearly via Lemon Squeezy (lemonsqueezy.com), which acts as our merchant of record. The current price is USD 10 per year, billed in advance. Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each term unless cancelled at least 24 hours before renewal.

Refunds: we offer a 14-day refund window from the date of initial purchase for any reason. Renewals are non-refundable. To request a refund, email shahar.sonsino@uniqsale.com.

Pricing and features may change. We will notify active subscribers at least 30 days in advance of price increases that affect their renewal.

5. Data, privacy, and what we don’t collect

UseAIBetter is designed to process your prompts locally. The text of your prompts is sent to the Anthropic Claude API only through the claude CLI installed on your own machine, using your own Anthropic credentials. We do not see, store, or transmit your prompts, critiques, or any source code you interact with.

We collect: account email (via Clerk), payment status (via Lemon Squeezy webhooks), and limited product analytics (via PostHog) consisting of anonymous events such as “app launched”, “update installed”, and “check for updates clicked”. We do not collect prompt content, file contents, IP-level user identifiers beyond what PostHog produces by default, or any other personal data.

Subprocessors: Clerk (authentication), Lemon Squeezy (payments & tax), PostHog (analytics), Amazon Web Services (hosting). Each is bound by its own privacy terms.

6. Updates

The Service uses the Sparkle framework to deliver automatic updates from this site. Updates are cryptographically signed with an EdDSA key under our exclusive control; the Service will refuse to install any update that does not verify against the embedded public key. By using the Service, you consent to receiving such updates while a subscription is active.

7. Third-party tools

UseAIBetter invokes the claude CLI distributed by Anthropic. Your use of claude is governed by Anthropic’s own terms and consumes credits or usage allowance from your Anthropic account. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or a partner of Anthropic.

The Service, including all source code, design, and trademarks (“UseAIBetter”, the icon, and related marks), is and remains the property of Uniqsale LLC. These Terms do not transfer any ownership rights to you.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT CRITIQUES PRODUCED BY THE SERVICE WILL BE ACCURATE, USEFUL, OR APPROPRIATE FOR ANY PARTICULAR USE.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL UNIQSALE LLC, ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY UNDER OR IN CONNECTION WITH THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM OR (B) USD 50.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time via your Lemon Squeezy customer portal or by emailing us. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms. On termination, your license ends and you must uninstall the Service.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email to active subscribers and posted here with an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Uniqsale LLC is registered, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be brought exclusively in the courts of that jurisdiction.
